and Notes: Remember
our FIRST SUNDAY lunch will be on the 5th .
Join us after service for our covered-dish meal ! We
have a local treasure, Dragonfly Farms, where Bill Rutter and his wife, Deborah,
raise and sell fresh vegetables. You can
hardly believe how delicious these greens are, especially in contrast with
supermarket products. You can enjoy these
veggies, which are picked fresh and are about three weeks fresher than
supermarket veggies. If you are
interested, please contact the Rutters at: Deborah.queenofengland@gmail.com.
David and Lois will bring your order to you at Church. Jim
is available again to play hymns during services, since he has time to practice
now. Feel free to contact him at home
(550-9363) or work (335-6541) or by email (jcamp@odessa.edu). The
changed email address for Frank and Bonnie is: daystar7@grandecom.net. Corrine
announces the “Stitch and Bitch” knitting / crochet group will continue to
meet on Wednesdays from 1 – 4 pm, alternating between Corrine’s and Shae’s
homes. If you are interested in joining
their community outreach project to stitch new-born baby hats, contact either
Corrine at 366-1311 or Shae at 550-6603. Shae
and Corrine attended the Barbershop Winter Convention in Tucson.
They had a great time and said the music was wonderful
!!! The

at the Odessa UU Church. The book to be
read and discussed is Twelve Steps to a

the first meeting, please have read the introduction and first chapter. The
book group will meet each month on the second and fourth Wednesday nights at
7:30pm. Feb.
15th – first meeting Mar.
14th and 28th Apr.
11th and 25th May
9th and 23rd June
13th and 27th July
11th and 25th Aug.
8th – last meeting In
January, Kathy led us in discussing ways in which we can help our congregation
to grow. One idea greatly agreed upon was
to BEGIN OUR SERVICE PROMPTLY AT
10:00 am !!! Another
suggestion was to make ONLY BRIEF comments during the lighting of candles of
joys and concerns. More full information
can be given during our “coffee break” time.
A third idea was to place the sharing of ANNOUNCEMENTS at the END of the
service, so as not to break the spiritual flow and feeling of the service. These
suggestions were implemented during last week’s service and seemed to work
well. Several folks commented they were
glad to see these changes and believed the over-all service went better and was
more meaningful. LET’S STRIVE TO KEEP
INCORPORATING THESE GOOD IDEAS !!!! Find copies of the up-dated Membership roster on the credenza by the front door. If you have news &/or notes to share, please email them to Bear at swimbear@cableone.net for the newsletter and to dmeengr@suddenlink.net for our website. We can now make web site updates quickly and easily. The Clan of the Frog Pond men’s group meets each Thursday evening at 8 PM at David Eggleston’s home, 1605 W. Tennessee, Midland. Men are invited to share their life experiences and feelings in a secure, supportive atmosphere following Native American tradition. For more information contact David at 352-3681, or Cliff at 550-3302. BEST
WISHES FOR A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL !!!
